Tetrapropylammonium hydroxide is commonly used as a template agent for TS-1 molecular sieve (for the green catalytic oxidation process of caprolactam and propylene oxide), it is also used as a regulator in surfactant products, as a cleaning agent in the electronics industry, as a polarographic agent and as a pH regulator in the field of analytical chemistry.
It is also used as a polymerization catalyst for the synthesis of silicone rubber and other silicone products and polycarbonate. It can also be used as a phase transfer catalyst in organic synthetic chemistry.
