Product Application

It is commonly used to manufacture alkyd resin coatings, which enhance the hardness, gloss, and durability of coating films.
It is also used as a raw material for coloring paints, varnishes, and printing inks, and is involved in the production of drying oils, smolder coatings, and aviation lubricants. Additionally, it is utilized in the production of pharmaceuticals and pesticides.
It contains four identical hydroxymethyl groups in its molecule, giving it a high degree of symmetry which makes it a valuable raw material for the synthesis of multifunctional compounds. For example, pentaerythritol triacrylate can be obtained through esterification and used in coatings.
It also serves as a flame retardant in adhesives and can be combined with ammonium polyphosphate to create an expandable flame retardant. Furthermore, it is used as a crosslinker for polyurethanes, where it helps form branch chains within the polymer structure.
Product Packaging & Storage

Packaging :
25 kg per bag or 1000 kg per bag. Customization available according to customer requirements.
Storage :
Store in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from sources of heat and ignition. Keep separate from oxidizing agents, acids, and other incompatible substances-do not mix during storage. Ensure appropriate fire-fighting equipment is available, with the correct types and quantities of extinguishers.
FAQ
Q: What is the difference between Mono-pentaerythritol and Di-pentaerythritol? What are their respective uses?
A: Although both monopentaerythritol and dipentaerythritol belong to the polyol family, their differences in molecular structure, molecular weight, and hydroxyl group count lead to distinct chemical properties and applications.
Monopentaerythritol, with its smaller molecular weight and moderate number of hydroxyl groups, is widely used in fields such as coatings, lubricants, plastics, and pharmaceuticals.
On the other hand, dipentaerythritol, with more hydroxyl groups and a higher molecular weight, is more commonly used in applications requiring higher crosslink density and chemical resistance, such as high-performance coatings, polyurethanes, and epoxy resins.
Q: Is Penta classified as ordinary goods or a hazardous chemical when exported?
A: According to road transportation assessments, pentaerythritol can be exported and transported as ordinary goods.
