Acrylamide aqueous solution is widely used in fields such as thickening agents for paper and fabrics, additives for oil well fracturing fluids, and water treatment agents.

Acrylamide aqueous solution can be used to prepare polyacrylamide gel, which is used for electrophoretic separation of biological macromolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids.

Instructions for Use

 

 

Acrylamide can undergo polymerization reactions with anionic intermediates containing active double bonds such as acrylic acid (AA), sodium acrylate, and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS) to form anionic polyacrylamide copolymers. Acrylamide can also be synthesized into nonionic polyacrylamide through its own homopolymerization reaction. Nonionic polyacrylamide can be processed into anionic polyacrylamide through subsequent alkaline hydrolysis process

Cationic polyacrylamide copolymers can be synthesized from acrylamide with active cationic monomers such as acryloyloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride (DAC), methylacryloyloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride (DMC), and dimethyldiallylammonium chloride (DMDAAC).

It is soluble in water, acetone and ethanol, slightly soluble in benzene.
