Main Application of Titanium silicon zeolite

Titanium silicon molecular sieves are an important type of catalytic material. They are mainly used in selective oxidation reactions, particularly have excellent catalytic performance in green chemical processes where hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) is used as the oxidant.
1.Oxidation of alkenes: For instance, converting propylene into propylene oxide efficiently is an important intermediate step in the production of chemical products such as epoxy resins.
2.Ammonioketone oximation: For example, when cyclohexanone reacts with ammonia and hydrogen peroxide, cyclohexanone oxime is produced, which is a key step in the production of nylon-6. 1
3.Oxidation of alcohols: It can catalyze the selective oxidation of primary alcohols, secondary alcohols, etc. into corresponding aldehydes, ketones or carboxylic acids.
4.Aromatic hydroxylation: For example, the hydroxylation reaction of benzene to produce phenol. 1
5.Saturated hydrocarbon oxidation: It can be used in the oxidation reactions of alkanes.

6.Other reactions: such as pyridine oxidation, isomerization, alkylation, etc.

FAQ

1.What is the typical silicon-titanium ratio (Si/Ti) of titanium-silicon molecular sieves? Is it adjustable?
The typical silicon-titanium molar ratio is 25:1 to 30:1.
It can be adjusted - by changing the ratio of titanium source to silicon source during synthesis, as well as controlling the crystallization conditions to control the titanium doping amount. However, an excessively high titanium content can lead to non-framework TiO₂ impurity phases, reducing the catalytic activity.

2.Will Titanium silicon zeolite lose their activity? What are the reasons?
Answer:
Yes, they will lose their activity. The main reasons :
1.Carbon deposition blocking the pores (especially in organic reactions)
2.Titanium leaching or hydrolysis (under strong acid/base conditions)
3.Local overheating caused by H₂O₂ decomposition, which damages the framework
Aggregation of non-framework TiO₂
