The content of bromoethane in ethyltriphenyl phosphonium bromide is usually determined by headspace - capillary gas chromatography. Ethyltriphenyl phosphonium bromide was prepared into a solution and placed in a sealed headspace flask. At a certain temperature, the bromoethane in the solution was allowed to escape from the upper space. The air in the upper part of the headspace flask was drawn, and the bromoethane was separated and determined using a DEGS30m×0.32mm×0.25μm chromatographic column, thereby calculating the content of bromoethane in ethyltriphenyl phosphonium bromide. This method only requires preparing a solution of ethyltriphenyl phosphonium bromide and detecting the content of bromoethane that escapes through the effect of temperature. The possibility of introducing impurities into the instrument is relatively small, and the pretreatment is simple. As long as the stabilization time is sufficient, the separation effect of bromoethane in the capillary column is relatively obvious. By using this method, better analytical results of trace bromoethane can be obtained under extremely limited analytical conditions.
